Support Fermi Poker tournaments

To honor Enrico Fermi on his 125th birthday, we're helping students run Fermi Poker tournaments at schools and universities, with hundreds of events planned this year. Sponsors and donors make them possible.

What your support pays for

What it takes to run a tournament: poker chips, question cards, food and drinks, and prizes for the winners.

Why it matters

Named for Enrico Fermi, the Fermi Foundation identifies exceptional young people from around the world and supports their development. Its aspiration is a global talent identification system, and Fermi Poker tournaments are the main way it gets there: they bring out young people who have an accurate model of the world, think quantitatively, revise their beliefs when the facts change, and are good at taking the perspective of others. More about the Foundation.

For the players, Fermi Poker trains estimation, calibration and updating on evidence, and it's social: every question gives the table something concrete to argue about. More under What players learn.
